Viterbo men, UW-L women win
Lewis lead Viterbo
Cole Lewis scored 18 points to lead Viterbo University men’s basketball team to a 65-48 win over Saint Mary’s at Beggs Gym on Wednesday.
David Shepard was the only other player in double figures (13 points) for the V-Hawks, who improved to 4-2 on the season.
Viterbo, which got at least two points from 11 players, shot 55 percent from the field and held the Cardinals to 42-percent shooting. The two teams combined for 42 turnovers.
UW-L women get first win
DECORAH, Iowa – The UW-La Crosse women’s basketball team picked up its first win of the season Wednesday.
The Eagles got a 12 points, 14 rebounds from Mallory Cramer and 19 points and four steals from Rachel Atchison in a 77-61 win over Luther.
The Eagles outrebounded Luther 45-32. The two teams combined for 37 turnovers.
Katie Ehlen added 12 points for UW-L (1-2), which shot 28-for-60 (47 percent) from the field and just 11 of 18 from the line.
