Bucks bringing in Rice Lake/Marquette forward Henry Ellenson

WATCH: Ellenson take on the Bulls Jimmy
Butler, who Timberwolves are after in trade

It was March 12, 2015 when the Onalaska High School boys basketball team faced off against Henry Ellenson and Rice Lake in the playoffs.

The do-it-all forward, who is about to be drafted into the NBA after a year at Marquette University, had 31 points and 19 rebounds in that 62-48 WIAA sectional win against the Hilltoppers.

Ellenson went on to become first-team all-Big East, as well as the Big East freshman of the year. He averaged 17 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. He led the team in minutes.

Today, the Milwaukee Bucks will take a look at Ellenson. The Bucks have the 10th pick in the June 23 draft. ESPN has the now 6-11 forward slotted to go around No. 11, so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities the Bucks take Ellenson if they like what they see – though he doesn’t quite fit the team’s needs. Milwaukee did trade Ersan Ilyasova, who has a very similar game to Ellenson, before the 2015-16 season.

Regardless, Ellenson’s going in the lottery. Here he is going at Chicago Bulls superstar Jimmy Butler in a game of 1-on-1.

Coincidentally, Butler is rumored to be headed to Minnesota, which has the fifth pick in the draft.

Minnesota recently hired Tom Thibodeau, the former Bulls coach, who undoubtedly would like his do-it-all shooting guard/small forward back to take some of the pressure off back-to-back No. 1 picks and rookies of the year, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Then again, every team in the NBA would like Butler.

Minnesota landing him appears very unlikely, as teams like Boston, with more trade assets – like the No. 3 pick – would certainly up the ante over anything the Timberwolves had to seriously offer.
