After 4 years, La Crosse baseball 'walk of fame' gets the OK from city

A baseball walk of fame is in the works for the entrance to Copeland Park.
The names of people well-known for baseball locally, from ‘Kootch’ Carroll to Dick Ghelfi to Damien Miller, will be displayed on plaques at the stadium and in granite markers on the walkway. You can donate to the cause clicking here.

So far, there is not a physical building or representation of those local baseball figures honored already.
The walk of fame idea was announced four years ago but just given the OK Monday from the La Crosse Board of Public Works.
Project planner Jim Geissner said the names of inductees into the existing local Baseball Hall of Fame will be etched into the walk.
Fifteen people (listed below) already have been inducted into the La Crosse Area Baseball Hall of Fame. Read about them clicking here.
