Onalaska football moving on after 35-point loss to Holmen
The last game of the regular season ended in defeat and a second-place finish in the conference.
But, Onalaska High School’s football team puts the 49-14 loss to Holmen behind it, as it looks ahead to the playoffs.
At 7 p.m. Friday, the fourth-seeded Hilltoppers (6-3) host No. 5 Medford (5-4).
“Medford’s a completely different team from Holmen,” Onalaska coach Tom Yashinsky said. “Physical team that likes to just grind yards. They’re very run heavy.”
Both Medford and Onalaska lost two of three games to end the regular season.
Onalaska lost in the second round of the playoffs last season. Medford lost in the first round.
