AT UW-L: Kansas St. vs. Arizona St. women's hoops on Sunday
A pair of Division I women’s college basketball teams will play each other Sunday in La Crosse.
At 4 p.m., Kansas State (7-2) plays No. 17 Arizona State (7-2) at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Mitchell Hall as part of an event called “Battle by the Bluff.”
UW-L women’s basketball coach Karen Middleton said the game was set up through Kansas State associate head coach Brian Ostermann, who graduated from UW-L in 1988 and was an assistant coach at Central High School.
Middleton says both teams have players who are from the area, including one from Rochester, Minn.
“They both have players on their team from Wisconsin or Minnesota or Illinois and just trying to get back closer to home for those players, where their families can watch them play,” she said.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children.
