Forest Hills driving range delayed by heavy rains

A new driving range for La Crosse’s city-owned Forest Hills golf course might not be ready before the snow flies.
An unusually wet September and October has meant a delay on work at the driving range and pushed the original completion date back by a month.
The range now won’t be finished until the end of November. That won’t change the open date, which was expected to be sometime next spring, anyway.
The new range is the last piece of a major rebuild of the course that started in 2015 after BNSF added a second set of tracks through Forest Hills.
The city’s board of public works is expected to approve a change in the contract for building the range next week.
