Brewers look to salvage win against Marlins at Miller Park tonight

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to salvage tonight what’s been a disasterous series with the bottom-feeding Miami Marlins.

Tuesday, Miami won 16-nothing. Last night, the Marlins ruined Jimmy Nelson’s retun with an 8-2 victory.

Nelson has been out 21 months following shoulder surgery on his throwing arm.

He was cheered loudly when he was introduced with the starting lineup and received another big ovation from the Miller Park crowd of 26,615 when he went out to the mound for the first.

He wasn’t cheered as loudly when he gave up a grand slam to Brian Anderson and was pulled after three innings.

Freddy Peralta and his 5.68 ERA takes the mound tonight for the Brewers, up against Caleb Smith, who has a 3.10 ERA.

The Brewers are, again, favored by 1.5 runs. They’ve been outscored 24-2 so far against Miami.
