La Crosse Showtime back for second season, announce tryout date

The La Crosse Showtime will be back this coming season at the La Crosse Center.
The Showtime finished 8-6 last season, their first.
While there were some technical issues early in that first season, which involved equipment, La Crosse Center director Art Fahey says he’s confident the snafus are behind them.
“One is how they operate and their introductions,” Fahey said, adding. “We’re looking at a couple pieces of new equipment, as far as rims and shot clocks and things like that to go along with this.”
There could also be some issues with Center renovations. The La Crosse city council will vote tonight on potentially moving forward with the $49 million expansion plan.
Fahey says the events at the Center, however, won’t be affected.
“There’s going to be, obviously, construction going around and probably some detours in the way you make your way around the building,” Fahey said. “Working with our project managers, the intention is to keep on running the building and keep the activity going on in here.”
The Showtime will hold tryouts from noon-3 p.m. July 22 at the La Crosse Center. Cost is $50 if registered before July 10 and $75 after. Register here.
